Our Story
The desire of Kevin Campbell, our lead pastor, to start a church began in
the fall of 2006. A conversation sparked a vision in his heart when he
learned that there are an estimated 200 million unchurched people in the
United States, making it the 4th largest mission field in the world. The
vision to start a church grew as more people began to voice this same desire
to lead people to become passionate followers of Christ. Elevate Church is
founded on the faith of 13 people who risked everything-left their families,
friends, and jobs to move their lives across the country.
In July 2007, some of the Elevate team made their way out to San Diego for
the first time. It became evident through meeting other leaders and hearing
of the needs of this city that God intended San Diego to be the center for
the Elevate movement to reach our nation and beyond.
The official launch of our church was Sunday, January 11th.
